Stumbled upon this gem. The stuffed jalapeño is too breaded, but has a mixture of goodness. The tacos you have to purchase individually and add rice and beans for $3. The elote was tasty - it has some heat to it and i would get it again. The beans are interesting - maybe it's the color? They taste fine. The rice has good consistency - maybe too garlicky for my liking. I would come here again. It's mainly an outdoor seating dining and the service is pretty quick.

I had tacos to go. This place was recommended to me. The ambiance is something to behold. I love the artwork on the building. They provided great service with all the extras I requested.

I came here to cater for a work event. I called in the morning and immediately got hung up on, and heard the guy say over the phone "don't answer just hang up" lol. Just tell me you're busy and call back later, or turn off the line and add a voicemail saying you're not taking calls due to high volume of orders. I eventually got through and they told me to call back from 3-5PM. I got two party platters (one steak and one pastor pork), a tray of chips, quart of esquites, and one quart of horchata. My favorite is the esquites here. The tortillas are also unique, I haven't had a green tortilla before. Everything is fresh and no complaints on the food. If anything the horchata was a little more watered down than I would've liked. But overall not a bad place.

My group and I arrived on Sunday afternoon after a hard day at practice. We were looking for somewhere with plenty of seats and table to accommodate our larger group. I have heard great things about Taco Mesa before this so I was excited to see how the food was. You order at the counter and grab your salsas/toppings before heading to their covered outdoor patio for seating. There were plenty of tables available, and they even allowed our group to combine tables so we could all sit together. I ordered three tacos and I was worried about the portion sizes but these were hefty sized tacos. The al pastor was flavorful, and the carne asada was well charred. Next time, I would've swapped out the carnitas taco to try one of their fish tacos!

Taco Mesa is a delightful spot with super friendly service that makes you feel right at home. Their chips and dip are amazing, providing the perfect start to a meal. I was particularly impressed by their unique green tortilla, which added a fun twist. I opted for the grilled fish taco, which was perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. The portion was generous, leaving me satisfyingly full. The outdoor seating is great for a casual dining experience, adding to the overall enjoyable ambiance. Highly recommend!

This place is the vibe. It's playful and colorful, while still feeling clean and fresh. All the seating is covered outdoor, so you get to enjoy the weather with great food. I really enjoyed the guac and chips since it came with a seasoning comparable to (healthier) Doritos. I did love my fish tacos -- fish was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Service is excellent, and couldn't ask for anything else!

Recently returned to the "Mesa" after many years. So many options here in Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa doesn't always come to mind. Well, 2 weeks back it was my choice for tacos on a Tuesday so I wanted to revive my love for Taco Mesa. She had the hard shell chicken and soft carnitas taco. I chose the fish and shredded beef hard shell. Everything was outstanding and memories were confirmed. Fast forward another week and the wifey wanted a repeat (rerun). Well we duplicated our same order but started with chips and guacamole....a great appetizer! Well, afterwards we both remarked that our hardshell tacos weren't as good as previous. We'll be back for a 3rd round soon.

5 stars is not enough This review is for a take out order of carnitas burrito, carne asada plate, and carne asada quesadilla plus flan and horchata. It was all so tasty, fresh, and satisfying. I'm not a fan of quesadillas but this was the best I've tasted. I think it's because the quality of the meat and seasoning. Top it all off with the custard like flan and you'll be in food heaven! I like flan to be more like a smooth, creamy custard and Taco Mesa's flan was on point! The only con was the price but I would gladly pay it again. Superb!
